We rely on volunteers to staff events, act as ambassadors in the community, and support our education efforts to shelters, rescue groups, and foster families. Our efforts range from wildlife rehabilitation, giving abused and neglected animals a second chance at life, helping with spay/neuter efforts throughout our community, and more. The Greater Charlotte Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) serves the animals and people of Charlotte, NC and the surrounding counties. We are an autonomous organization not affiliated with or supported by any other SPCAs, including the ASPCA. The Greater Charlotte SPCA is a private 501(c)(3) non-profit.

A lot of our adoptable pets have no background history, and no notes based on behavior around dogs, cats, kids, or house training. However, a lot of our volunteers know a little more about our dogs based on the walks they provide, and our fosters have the most knowledge about the dogs in their care. Our team of dedicated animal lovers is committed to ensuring that every pet is treated with kindness, compassion, and respect throughout the rehoming process.
